Week 3

Maths - This week we are learning to read and write numbers.

Elmer Elephants: Read and write numbers to 5

Great Gruffalos: Read and write numbers to 10

Awesome Aliens: Read and write numbers to 20

Phonics - This week we are learning to recognise sounds, and segment and blend sounds in words.

Elmer Elephants: m sound. We are learning how to say, read and write the m sound.

Great Gruffalos: m, a, s, d sounds. We are learning to say, read and write the sounds, as well as blend sounds to read and segment sounds to spell words.

Awesome Aliens: Recap all of sound set 1 but focus on ch, qu, x, ng/nk sounds. We are learning to say, read and write the sounds, as well as blend sounds to read and segment sounds to spell words.

Ask your child what group they are in so you can support them accordingly.

Great Gruffalos:: 1 more and 1 less of numbers up to 10

Awesome Aliens: 1 more and 1 less of numbers up to 20

Phonics - This week we are learning to recognise sounds, and segment and blend sounds in words.

Elmer Elephants: s sound. We are learning how to say, read and write the s sound.

Great Gruffalos: g, o, c, k sounds. We are learning to say, read and write the sounds, as well as blend sounds to read and segment sounds to spell words.

Awesome Aliens: Recap all of sound set 1 and learn the new sounds from set 2 - ay, ee, igh, ow (blow the snow). We are learning to say, read and write the sounds, as well as blend sounds to read and segment sounds to spell words.
